    Weighing up the price, performance and features, we can only conclude that the DVD-H1080 represents superb value for money, particularly when you compare it with the similarly priced but less exciting Toshiba SD-590E. For a little under £60, you get irresistible looks, solid 1080p picture quality, a USB port with wide-ranging format support and CD ripping, plus it's generally easy to use.     Although the upconverting Samsung DVD-H1080R lacks somewhat in quality and reliability, it is a great compact DVD player that makes your DVD experience better than standard DVD players. It is flexible enough to support multiple formats, as well as direct-from-USB drive reading, yet affordable enough for the consumer on a budget. For the price, this model is a bargain.     This DVD player is a total piece of junk. It worked ok for about 3 or 4 months at most.. now it's constantly having issues where the screen goes black momentarily while watching a DVD and the TV seems to switch in and out of whatever mode it is in - as it shows the resolution, etc. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this one, mine is going in the trash.     I bought this for myself a while ago now because I was fed up of using the cheap rubbish one I got from Argos. I am so glad that I choose a reputable brand as this DVD player is excellent! The DVD player is very stylish, and looks modern as it is in a sort of circular shape, unlike the ones that seem old which are in a rectangular shape.     I walked into Circuit City (Radio Shack) and I saw this unit for $89.99. The staff was unsure if it played DivX movies off the USB key or not. It sure as heck does! This thing is so light I have already taken it to different households just by carrying it in a laptop bag or backpack.
