    The Rugged eSATA from LaCie is the dial hard drive for anybody whose on the move but needs excellent performance. Its eSATA connection allows it to rival the performance of hard drives found inside your computer, while the USB connection ensures compatibility with older computers which don't yet have an eSATA port.     The LaCie Rugged external hard drive might have garnered high marks in the past, but after four years of the same design, it's fallen behind competing drives that offer tougher, more-attractive designs that cost less. The LaCie Rugged Hard Disk has both the universal USB 2.0 interface as well as the new Power eSATA interface, which, when connected to a Power eSATA port on your laptop, will allow your drive to be bus-powered. With the included USB power-sharing cable, it can also work with a standard eSATA port as well, making it incredibly compatible.
