    Worth every penny The price per gigabyte is high, but some value is added by the five-year warranty, which gives peace of mind against the creaky build quality, though we definitely would have preferred a stronger build and shorter warranty!     Western Digital's 320GB My Passport Studio is one of only two portable hard disk here with both FireWire 400 and USB ports. The Studio performed well over both interfaces, although FireWire's extra speed can be useful if you're impatient and regularly copy lots of data. Unfortunately, the Studio has a four-pin FireWire 400 port which, unlike the LaCie Rugged drive's six-pin FireWire port, can't draw enough power from your PC to power the disk.     After years of using LaCie Rugged drives, I've switched to these drives partly because they're smaller and lighter for travel. It's also conenient to Velcro them to my laptop. I do a film show so need the FireWire 800 for speed. It's been impossible to find anything but USB drives in retail stores. Also the software included gives easy access to see how your memory is being used I.e. Video,photos, music breakdowns. You can also digitally label the drive on the outside.     I am very happy with this drive. I use it specifically for all my work data including my work Parallels VM which I store and run directly of this drive with no noticeable performance hit. The encryption gives me a little more peace of mind. The connection cables are too short and more than once I have accidentally disconnected.     This is a great little portable hard drive! I've owned Western Digital externals before and had no problems with them--they last forever and can take a beating. This particular hard drive is plug and play between both Macs and PCs and uses both USB 2.0 and Firewire 400/800 so you can spare a USB port on a mac (which is why I bought it). I only caution other shoppers that this particular hard drive is not compatible with WINDOWS 7, unfortunately only with Vista/XP/2000. Läs mer Översätt till svenska
