    A high-end unit with traditional controls from Garmin. Next to the touchscreen models it can feel a little old fashioned, although its capabilities are far from outdated.     I recently purchased the GPSMAP 62st from Amazon.com. The unit did not work properly right out of the box. It would not locate satellites, and kept shutting off after 30 seconds. I tried everything, call Garmin, they could not help me. Finally I call Amazon for a RA, and sent the unit back the next day. Amazon was execellent! They gave me credit over the phone with no questions. I went back to Amazon and ordered the Garmin Oregon 550t GPS. It works great. Läs mer Översätt till svenska

    This is a lot of money to spend on a piece of kit that will not download specific maps. The maps themselves are well over a hundred quid and nothing I did persuaded the thing to download onto the device, if Garmin can't get their downloads sorted out it really isn't worth spending the money, not very impressed. I would stick with your iphone as hideous as they are, at least the maps are cheap to download(and exactly the same i.e OS maps) . Läs mer Översätt till svenska

    So far I have used it for two Hikes. The Topos had detailed coverage of the first place I went and none of the second.     • Never dropped signal yet on Hikes where other hikers GPS lost signal. Compass is highly sensitive and works great. Used it for geocaching and put me right within 5ft o...

    Unlike the Garmin 60 which is still a better unit, the Garmin 62st seems to be made more like a car unit, not a mobile hand held unit should have been made. There is more downs than ups to this unit for the price you pay. They could have made a much better unit it they would have spent more time in make it more simple to use as a mobile device, than trying to make into a complex unit like an I-Phone.
