    These speakers reside in a science lab with background noise from fume hoods etc. I use it with a laptop and iPod/iPhone. The power options are nice, although an iPod dock would be welcome. They have plenty of umph to slice through that noise and can be cranked for late night sessions. I would buy these again in a heartbeat. Läs mer

    (I wrote most of this response over in the CNET Audiophile column that reviewed the Audioengine A4's, and I am putting here because no one has reviewed these speakers.) While the A5's are generally well regarded as a pc/mp3 speaker system, I have the A5's as a full time speaker system for my 42" flat screen in a 15' by 25' room. They sound great!     listened to these speakers at my local dealer 32 Ohm Audio in Portland OR - quite simply, I was blown away by the sound quality with all types of music, as well as the build quality and availability of a bamboo enclosure. I did buy them from my local shop, they were very helpful. I like a variety of music, and I wanted the speakers to be able to rock, thump and sing.     Overall a great sounding speaker with superb mid-range and not-treble shy at all. Music with guitar and strong vocals truely stand out. Listening to Mariah Carey would probably blow your mind away with these speakers. However, if you put in JayZ or 50 Cent, you would probably need a 10" Sub to fill up the space for sure.
