The Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM L IS macro has a comparatively easy play in the APS-C arena. The center to corner resolution is very high up to f/11 and even f/16 is a perfectly usable setting here. Typical for macro lenses distortions are a non-issue. Vignetting is only a slight problem at f/2.8. Lateral CAs are well controlled although potentially (just) visible at the borders. The Canon 100mm has Canon’s typically reliable and tough build quality, and – because it’s also suitable for full-frame cameras – is fairly heavy, too. The optical train is made up of ten elements in nine groups, while the minimum aperture of f/32 allows plenty of depth of field. The lens has a dual switch for focus limiting and a separate switch for switching between autofocus and manual focus. Läs mer Översätt till svenska
This is particularly the case with APS-C bodies such as the Canon EOS 600D and EOS 7D , where its effective focal length rises closer to 160mm, and this omission also means that the viewfinder image isn't stabilised for more precise composition. Läs mer Översätt till svenska
Released in March 2000, this lens manages to offer most of the features you’d expect in its price bracket. Constructed with 12 elements in 8 groups, the focusing system is the internal type, meaning the front element remains fixed in position and doesn’t extend or rotate. Läs mer Översätt till svenska
There are virtually no criticisms of this lens that we can come up with! The build is a little short of L quality, but is still well built. The optical performance is first class with no nasty or disappointing surprises and as for the handling, it’s a pleasure to use. That only leaves the price and although it is a little high, you do, in this case, get what you pay for. Läs mer Översätt till svenska
Mycket skarpt.
Although I have an EF 28-135mm IS USM for general usage lens, and a good quality 50mm 1.2 for portrait work. I needed a prime lens with some range, but with good DOF (depth of field) only found on short portrait lens'. The build of the lens case is standard quality, but with a metal bayonette that locks tight, similiar to higher priced L class lens. It's a solid and heavy piece of glass and it's quality is right up there with the L glass. Läs mer Översätt till svenska
I find the lens works well even in cold weather and produces a sharp clean image. It give a greater stand off distance than the 50mm with as good results. I am currently using a 10D and have found no issues, works well with the existing flash. Läs mer Översätt till svenska
This lens has high quality. The picture is even better than my 70-200mm f2.8 is usm 2. Perfect! Worth to buy! But, the macro is not so perfect! 1:1 is not enough! Läs mer Översätt till svenska
I've used this product in low-light, indoors, long exposer. Great results! I'm a big fan of this lens, and it makes a good portrait lens too. Läs mer Översätt till svenska
