    Image stabilization; what a great concept! No more worrying about the caffine in that cola or coffee. Pay no attention to the wind. Ignore the bumps in the road (or the waves in the ocean). These Canon's perform beautifully in almost every circumstance. At 21 ounces, they are lighter that you might imagine them to be with their advanced technology.     En bra kikare , dock är en del saker mindre bra. Plus för vikten och kompaktheten , att det är vanliga AA batterier som används , inställningsrattarna är sköna och kikaren känns rejäl och välbyggd. Orsaken att man köper den här kikaren är ändå bildstabiliseringen som fungerar bra mot darret från händerna , det tar dock inte bort stora rörelser , vet man att hantera stabiliseringen rätt så är det en toppen funktion som kan vara värt mer än optisk...     Canon are famed for the quality of their optical equipment and rightly so. I bought these smart binoculars for my Mum over 15 years ago for her 70th birthday. An avid birdwatcher, 10 X 30 are ideal for this purpose and the image stabiliser function which basically eliminates the "shakes" greatly increased her enjoyment Now, sadly her eyesight is failing and I am the main user.     This is my 2nd set of these binoculars. I lost my 1st pair. However, the 1st pair was run over by a car. The only damage was cosmetic scratches. They're very durable!     I'll leave reviews of the optics and such to others who have more knowledge in the area. I bought these for the image stabilization, and that part works wonderfully. The view is the same as other binoculars I've had, until you press (and hold) the magic button. About a second later the jitteriness smooths out and the subtle details of the subject become crystal clear. As an example I used them from a ship looking at other distant ship traffic.     I bought them shortly after they came out and have traveled with them extensively. Alaska's climate never caused any problems, and for whale watching in Hawaii they're superb. Definitely try them before purchasing expensive standard binoculars because you may find, like me, that a slightly better image quality is useless when you can't make anything out of it due to movement.     • The stabilization is incredible. With the push of a button you can discern small details. Reading writing on distant objects, which can be a headache, is a snap with t...
    • Bulky for 10x30 but worth it for the IS. They aren't armored or waterproof, although with reasonable care it's never been a problem for me.
