It was hard coming up with cons for the Pixma MP990 because it is such a useful printer. It does everything well, minus the occasional wait for the printer to prepare itself and a few half prints. The photo quality is fabulous and I loved being able to scan in all my old film I had at my house (luckily I’m a pack rat so I still had all my old film negatives). As the top-ranking all-in-one in Canon's range, the PIXMA MP990 includes wireless connection, CD/DVD print, transparency and negative scanning and an extra grey ink for improved black and white prints. Print quality is excellent and speeds, though a little erratic, are in the same order as its main rivals. Loved it in the US - Hated it in Australia

I bought this in the US and found it to work as advertised. Then I moved to Australia. It worked fine, except when I ran out of ink. Turns out, there is no place to get ink for the MP990, but the device is not very good at telling you that the ones that are sold for it do not work. I have spent over $200 trying to buy new ink. I tried 526 and it recognized each one of the tanks individually, but when I finished installing all of them, it produced errors again. Läs mer Översätt till svenska

The Canon MP990 is quite a machine. Print quality is fantastic. Print speed is stellar. My only issues thus far are: Don't try and print with the paper in the rear feed. The machine doesn't know how to recognize paper unless it's in the cassette under the tray. Also, it requires 5 ink cartridges which I'm sure will add up quickly. This printer makes amazing photos and is good for the office too. Just one problem: extreme ink usage. The people at Cannon should have made it so you can turn the ridiculous auto print head clean off. I mean it uses ink when you aren't even using it. All of my ink cartridges went empty in less than a month of light use. I would seriously recommend getting a different printer because of this one feature. Läs mer Översätt till svenska

Scans fast with great color and sharpness. With 6 ink tanks it prints with great color quality. It uses gray ink as one of its colors which I have had no problem finding. However if the printhead gets cloged or dammaged it is very costly to replace. I found it cheaper to buy a new printer. Läs mer Översätt till svenska

I have always had HP printers, but did not like last one I got. So I looked at very many. Glad I got this Canon. For about $175 it is great. Quick set up, can download directly to storage devices without using computer, easy to use pop-up controls. Smart design allows you to close everything up when not in use to prevent dust from entering. Best photos I've ever printed at home. 4x6 borderless pictures look like post cards.
