    The Canon MX870 is in my opinion a great printer really, it’s got a ton of features that any business would appreciate but the average user can appreciate as well. All in all I like this printer a lot, it has all of the features that I want in a printer, the ink is inexpensive, it’s fast, it’s quiet and it produces quality prints even on the low settings.     Although the changes in the PIXMA MX870 are only small, they add up to an overall improvement is several areas, such as printing costs and ease of use.     this machine will waste multiple sheets of paper and lots of ink printing error reports that cannot be deleted or stopped in any way. You can unplug it, restart it, throw it through the window and it will insist on printing a report even if you hit cancel fifty million times. POS. It mostly works well-the scanner driver though is buggy and requires computer restarts on occasion. Läs mer Översätt till svenska

    Visually the printer is very compact in comparison to other products. Considering that it has a document feeder, flatbed scanner, duplex printing and both rear and tray loading paper it manages to maintain its form and style very well. Some other printers on the market have touchscreen displays as well as removable tablets but my preference is that you don't really need anything overly fancy which could likely just increased the price and complexity.     The hardware setup went smooth and easy. The software setup SEEMED the same at first. But on the second day, neither of my computers(one XP, one Win 7) could locate it. The troubleshooting software was useless since it could not find the printer either. I had to uninstall the CD software and download the updated drivers from Canon. After that, the printer worked great via wi-fi. I especially love the scanner which creates high quality scans of my old photos. Läs mer Översätt till svenska

    I had a Canon MX850 for a few years and liked it very much. Somehow it jammed a program and broke so I was forced to buy this model MX870. The directions were not thorough and we had to call support several times for various system functions. This printer is really SLOW and it uses twice as much ink as my last printer... not sure how that is but I am replacing a black ink cartridge every few weeks and color cartridges about 6 to 8 weeks out.     I ran 589 scans in one afternoon before I decided to write this review. It feeds paper well, took all of the odd-ball sizes (through the ADF) a few on the Platen. Software is flawless; a misfeed will get deleted from the queue and it allows you to place it right back where it came fom on the feeder. Pring is nice in color on regular paper; very nice BUT it's slow with documents (which is why I have a laser for documents). All in all it's a fine printer. Läs mer Översätt till svenska

    • Slow on the take-off but okay once it starts going, reason for the 4 stars instead of 5.
