After looking foe while I got a good price for this one (most others were in the $20-$30 range). It's got plenty of room for the DVD writer and I can put the cables in the zippered pocket. It is like the drive in my laptop

This unit is just like the optical drive in my laptop, but encased in a small plastic enclosure. I have to hold it down to keep it from moving when opening and closing the drive. I don't count this a 'con' because I knew this going in. So if you are looking for something a bit heavier, like the older Sony DRX-820U, then this Samsung drive is not for you.
