    With promises of a return to the more traditional style of Final Fantasies, Square brought to America probably one of their strongest FFs for the Playstation yet. The first six instalments that we hadn't (by 1997) yet seen stuck to a fairly tight and established blueprint, though with the dawning of the PlayStation era and the emergence of '3D' gaming, came big changes.     The final, Final Fantasy on Playstation is a wonderful reminder of everything that Squareoholics hold dear about the seminal RPG series. Littered with references to previous installments, a gameplay system reminiscent of former FF games and an overall feeling of nostalgia, FF IX is a wonderful trip down memory lane in what will probably be a very different series from here on.     Overall, Final Fantasy IX is a game that, as said before, is certainly playable, but perhaps had its sights set too high and tried for a bit too much going backwards, while not pushing forward enough.     Final Fantasy IX is the ninth instalment of the Final Fantasy series made by Square Enix (Squaresoft when the game was released). The game was released on Playstation 1 and had new features, such as the Active Time Event (players could watch clips of what was happening with the other characters in the story), and Mognet.     Next to Final Fantasy 7 this one is my favorite Final Fantasy I got so much into this game I loved the story to it I loved the characters and thought their powers were super cool. The Final Fantasy trilogy is great for anyone of all ages writing this review makes me want to play them again. I give this one two thumbs up for how great it is i'm sure anyone would agree.
