Meanwhile, burly bass tones lend authority to pounding footsteps and explosions, while the elegant high-frequency reproduction ensures that sounds such as tinkling glass and metal on metal sound crisp, but not grating. There's a level of control and cohesion during action scenes that's a joy to behold, and it also displays a deftness of touch that makes quiet scenes absorbing. The stylish-but-traditional black body will make the Pioneer-VSX 520 K an imposing addition to any setup, and it's future-proof with HD audio and 3D signal support. However, operation can be fiddly and some rivals can offer slightly better feature sets for not much more money. The trouble is, you can pick up receivers like the Onkyo TX-SR308 and Yamaha RX-V467 for a similar price, both of which offer more features and slightly better performance. This is a VERY solid product. Sure there are things you can gripe about (old-school text display makes things a little tougher, like when you want to balance speakers) but all-in-all it's great. I had no problem setting it up after reading the manual a bit. The sound is great and full, the sub is hearty, and I'm running all of my video devices through it with no problem at all. I use this system in a medium sized room set up for home theater. I replaced an expensive unit that was hit by lightning. I am very impressed by the ease of installation. The setup menus are simple and the manual is easy to folow. It took me about 45 minutes to do everything. This receiver is loaded with features found on high end components. After I set it up, I found even more features in the manual that enable you to make tweaks that even further fine tune the sound. Läs mer Översätt till svenska

Returned defective unit for replacement after trying other every other possible issue for 2 weeks. After a few days my RMA status showed as Approved with a replacement coming. After a day it still stated replacement but had not updated with shipping info. A few hours later the receiver was out of stock and status had changed to refund. I initially had a 7.1 setup, but I downsized the speaker set, and moved the extra two to another room. This setup was a lot easier than the VSX-1019, and the fact it looks just like it was a nice addition to my home theater design. After configuring my logitech harmony remote, I was ready to go! The iPod connection has been simplified, and even works with my older iPod 1st Generation. I remember when I did not have HDMI, and now it's like I have great sound again.
